Luminary Bakery’s Alice Williams awarded MBE

Luminary is a social enterprise running employability programmes for women who have experienced multiple disadvantages, particularly gender-based violence. In 2022, they supported 114 women, training them to bake to a professional standard. (If you haven't checked out their bakery cafés in Chalk Farm and Stoke Newington, then add it to your list now!)

Of the women graduating from their programmes, 83% were in employment, education or further training. And their business has offered over 6,800 hours of paid work to graduates, including 1,190 hours of apprenticeship placements.

Their founder, Alice Williams, was recently awarded an MBE for this incredible work.

We are so proud that Two Magpies Fund has supported her and her dedicated team over the last few years. Well done Luminary Bakery!
