Two Magpies’ ‘Best Start In Life’ Fund is now accepting applications

Four million children in the UK are growing up in poverty.

In response to this, Two Magpies Fund is inviting charitable organisations, who believe they help babies and young children under the age of 11 to apply for our ‘Best Start In Life’ Fund.

In previous years, we have supported literacy schemes and baby banks, as well as homework clubs and play schemes in family hostels, but we are open to hearing from any charitable organisation that meets the following criteria:

• Your project must support babies or young children under the age of 11, growing up in poverty, to give them the best start in life

• Your project must be based predominantly in London, or have the potential to create systemic change across the UK

You can apply for a maximum of £15,000 for project costs, one-off equipment costs and running costs, including salaries.

Please send a one-page proposal to info@twomagpiesfund.co.uk by 30 June 2026. This should include your charity's contact information, including website address, and detail how you will spend the money and the intended outputs/ outcomes. Alternatively you can use our application form provided.

Funding will be awarded in September 2026.
